The Woodside Store was a general store and post office built in the mid-1800s that still stands along Kings Mountain Road, now as a museum. The Historical Independence Hall, originally built in 1884, moved to several locations within the town, but it is still open and hosts town meetings and local events. When more space was added, offices were built next door in 1990 to match the same rural architectural style of the historic hall. The growth of San Mateo County in the 1950s brought more residents to the area and Woodside became incorporated in 1956. Woodside hosts several annual events including the Kings Mountain Art Fair, which highlights original art and crafts by local and national artists, and Holiday Traditions at the Filoli Center, one of California’s finest country estates. Residents can also find plenty to do at one of the town’s parks – ride horses at CTETA Horse Park, wade through creeks at Huddart Park or hike at Wunderlich Park. Woodside offers a variety of properties – from hobby farms and ranches to single family homes and historic country estates. Looking for Woodside homes for sale?
